Desginers Luiz Risi and Yomar Augusto teamed up to create one the the greatest fonts I have ever seen. Yes, banana typography! Creating a design when your canvas is only 2.7 centimeters can be a challenge. After a lot of peeling, the two were able to make unique letters made up of the banana's remains. This banalphabet was use for Chiquita stickers all over Europe. My only thought is, what did they do with all those bananas?! Take a look at how this clever bananafont came together.

Billionaire writes name in sand, visible from space!

On a sandy island in Abu Dhabi Sheikh Hamad bin Hamdan Al Nahyan has inscribed what is in effect the biggest graffiti tag the world has ever seen. Hamad, 63, a scion of the billionaire Abu Dhabi royal family, has gouged his name in capital letters two miles across and half a mile wide. His moniker is so big it can be seen from space (as this Google Earth pic demonstrates). The tip of the “H” reaches into the strait that leads to the Arabian Gulf, allowing Hamad to fill the first two letters of his name with water. The “M” looks partially filled as well.

Why? Why not? Think of it as economic stimulus. It took a lot of imported laborers from the likes of Pakistan and Bangladesh to dig those canals. And for all we know, this could be part of a grand tourism plan. The island that “Hamad” has been inscribed on, Al Futaisi, is said to be entirely owned by the Sheikh and contains resorts, a golf course and horse stables.

Perhaps the sheikh’s goal is to make his entire name navigable by yacht, home to a giant marina. Or, in a nod to the elaborate man-made island housing developments just up the coast in Dubai, perhaps Sheikh Hamad intends to line the banks of his ego-canals with condos.

Hamad has shown a penchant for excess in the past. He is said to own more than 200 cars, including seven Mercedes 500 SELs painted in the colors of the rainbow. Indeed the man known as the Rainbow Sheikh has even created the Emirates National Auto Museum, home to a custom-built globe-shaped motor home said to be one-millionth the size of the Earth itself. If he weren’t so rich, we’d call this guy an artist.

I took photos at The Do Over in Miami, one of the closing parties to our crazy music festival. Previously known as WMC, now known as MMW (Miami Music Week), the last week of March leaves party-goers with bells ringing in their ears! The electronic music festival week can really take a toll on one's brain, so it is always refreshing to wind down with a party that focuses on hip-hop, funk, and other non-electro genres!

The Adidas sponsored event took place at Bar (owned by OHWOW ), was full of free giveaways from Friends With You, groovy tunes by Gaslamp Killa, Cosmo Baker, Rich Medina, Haycock, Strong, Classixx & Nick Catchdubs AND a delicious BBQ.... what a perfect way to end the week!

"SIX MONTHS. That's right. This dream-like picture shows each phase of the sun over Bristol's Clifton Suspension Bridge taken during half a year.

The image was captured on a pin-hole camera made from an empty drinks can with a 0.25mm aperture and a single sheet of photographic paper.

Photographer Justin Quinnell strapped the camera to a telephone pole overlooking the Gorge, where it was left between December 19, 2007 and June 21, 2008--the Winter and Summer solstices. (That's a 15,552,000 second exposure.)

'Solargraph' shows six months of the sun's luminescent trails and its subtle change of course caused by the earth's movement in orbit. The lowest arc being the first day of exposure on the Winter solstice, while the top curves were captured mid-Summer.

(Dotted lines of light are the result of overcast days when the sun struggled to penetrate the cloud.)
Quinnell, a renowned pin-hole camera artist, says the photograph took on a personal resonance after his father passed away on April 13--halfway through the exposure. He says the picture allows him to pinpoint the exact location of the sun in the sky at the moment of his father passing."

An idea that was a joke was turned into a reality after Lucasfilm's approval was given for the design. Lord Vader rises to the sky at a whopping 86 ft high and weighing 640 lbs.

Not too long ago, i posted an entry about Maybach's limited edition Zeppellin. Who did Maybach hire to work on their high-budget campaign? None other than world famous photographer (and one of my personal faves), David LaChapelle.

Maybach's artistic vision teamed up with LaChapelle's is entitled "Exposure of Luxury." With hopes to re-invent the look of the Maybach brand, Maybach decided to use the unusual style of LaChapelle who chose to use style icon Daphe Guiness as the leading model. LaChapelle's aim was to incorporate two motifs, one of the past and one of the present. He used two similar sets, one using the new Maybach Zeppellin and the other using the 1930 Maybach Zeppellin.

Contemporary art mixed with extravagant contemporary automobiles = a beautiful collaboration.

He has remained anonymous and elusive while becoming one of the most famous artists in the world.

And now graffiti artist Banksy has pulled off a movie project which shows him on film and speaking for the first time - but critics are divided on whether it gives any further clues to the man behind the stencils.

The street artist, who has never confirmed his identity, will premiere his film Exit Through The Gift Shop at the Sundance Film Festival on Sunday.

Narrated by British actor Rhys Ifans and billed as 'the world's first street art disaster movie', its inclusion in the festival has been shrouded in secrecy.

It was left off the official programme and instead will be the festival's Spotlight Surprise.

There has been speculation that the artist will finally reveal himself in the film as it is said to feature exclusive footage of him at work along with many of the world's most famous graffiti artists.

But Banksy, who is known for teasing his audience and staging unexpected stunts, is more likely to create more questions than he answers.

hybrid lamborghini madura concept.

scheduled for launch in 2016, this Lamborghini concept is a collaboration between both Lamborghini's and Audi's designers. when i first looked at it, it reminded me somewhat of an R8, hence the Audi influences. this will be the first hybrid lambo in the making. its aggressive look is subtly downplayed by its curvaceous body, kinda schexy.

pretty sleek looking to me, and i'm usually not a fan of these overdone concepts. thoughts?
