yea, its wednesday

whats good?
how ya been, bloggers?

uh, ive been sick, and sick of blogging too.
i have strep throat, ouch.
i still see my pediatrician, the same doctor who ive been seeing since i was 5. i feel like ross in that episode of friends, where hes still seeing his pediatrician at what, 30ish? i walked in and was completely embarrassed, as i havent been there in amost a year. the same nurses have watched me grow up and go through so much. anyway, i laughed when the they asked me how old i was, man.... im no longer going to be a teen on monday. is twenty-teen a legit age?
it makes me sad. i miss the days of no priorities... why cant we all just be 5?
w.e, im always going to be a kid, =D.

hmm.
ive been saving each day for my wide angle lens.

i decided on a sigma 10-22mm. the first thing im going to do is go into my doctors office and take pics. there are hundreds and hundreds of collectors item toys in there, i cant wait.

lets see lets see, what else have i been up to...
i went to the planetarium, it was amazing.

ive been spinning like crazy, working on music like a busy banana.
stay tuned, im finally doing some bigger gigs =P

oleg say
"speedy fingaz on the keyboardz"

we rocking to Quasimoto.

beyonce changes her name...

to sasha fierce?
BEYONCE= FAIL.

"Beyonce would like to be known as "Sasha Fierce."Just like the "Seinfeld" episode where George wanted everyone to call him "T-Bone," Beyonce Knowles would like to be known by a bold new name. The R&B singer has christened herself "Sasha Fierce" for her new double album, "I Am ... Sasha Fierce," due in U.S. stores on November 18, and has released a lengthy justification for the comical moniker. "I have someone else that takes over when it's time for me to work and when I'm on stage, this alter ego that I've created that kind of protects me and who I really am," the former Destiny's Child frontwoman said in a statement. "Sasha Fierce is the fun, more sensual, more aggressive, more outspoken side and more glamorous side that comes out when I'm working and when I'm on the stage." Additionally, she has set up a cryptic MySpace page (http://www.myspace.com/sashafierce) that gives a "lucky person" the opportunity to receive a personal message and a gift bag valued at $500. As George found out, nicknames usually do not work when they are self-bestowed. His colleagues thought he should be called Koko the monkey. In real life, rapper Eminem had better luck with his alter ego "Slim Shady," which he said came to him while he was on the toilet. Beyonce released her previous solo album, "B'Day," to coincide with her 25th birthday in September 2006. It debuted at No. 1 on the U.S. pop chart and yielded the No. 1 single "Irreplaceable." "I Am ... Sasha Fierce" will be distributed by Columbia Records."

a-trak remixes mstrkrft.

it becomes a problem for a dj when there are 3904830984320 mixes of a song.
i start thinking, which remix am i gonna play?
and now i have another option for mstrkrft's pop banger "bounce." i think this one will go at the top of my bounce list....
bounce (a-trak remix)- mstrkrft (speedyshare)
the reason this remix really grabs my attention is because it sounds completely different from the original track, but you still know what it is. not to mention, the intro has a bumping hip hop feel as opposed to hard electro (considering N.O.R.E is featured on this track).
however, a- trak still knows how to bring that electro flava right back in.
i love you alain!! keep on representing for the Jewish kids in the scene, lol.

man decorates basement with $10 worth of Sharpie.

this is AMAZING. (thank you arielle for thinking of me)
if youve ever been to my apartment, youve seen my doodle hall.. in fact, youve probably taken a picture next to it.
i need to up my doodle hall to a doodle home....

When Charlie Kratzer started on the basement art project in his south Lexington home, he was surrounded by walls painted a classic cream. Ten dollars of Magic Marker and Sharpie later, the place was black and cream and drawn all over.

There are fictional detectives Hercule Poirot and Sherlock Holmes, Winston Churchill lounging with George Bernard Shaw — and the TV squirrel Rocky and his less adroit moose pal Bullwinkle.

Says Kratzer of his cartoon of a cartoon: "You appreciate the cleverness more as an adult."

There's Georges Seurat's Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte. There is Blenheim Palace, the birthplace of Winston Churchill, and the Cornell Law School, of which Kratzer is an alumnus. There is Kratzer's dad. There is the harlequin pattern — alluded to in culinary culture today by the Panera bread bag — and a fake fireplace facing a real one.

There are both The Walrus and the Carpenter (from Lewis Carroll's Through the Looking Glass and What Alice Found There), and William Shakespeare. The Marx Brothers peer around a corner. A flip-top garbage can is transformed via marker art into Star Wars' plucky little beeper R2D2.

Says Kratzer, 53, the associate general counsel for Lexmark: "People are amazed that with something as simple and inexpensive as a Sharpie, you can decorate a whole basement."

How did this Sharpie world start? With a single swipe of the marker.

Kratzer started mid-wall, with the Salon by Picasso. Then he thought, well, taking a design out to the edge of the wall wouldn't be overwhelming.

Then the rest of the basement flared off that first wall.

Kratzer's basement suggests that the great cultural influences wandered out of college humanities class — here a Churchill for eloquence during harsh times, a Joan Crawford for cinematic vampiness, Holmes and Poirot for great literary characterization — and set up shop together in the carefully hand-drawn markings of an educated imagination come to life.

Kratzer might be a lawyer by day, but in his off hours he is a man who has taken the artistic influences and heroes of his life and imagined them onto his walls, that he might keep company with them while he uses the pool table.

Look carefully in this basement o' dreams and you'll see a drawing of the Kratzers' upstairs library — with Claude Monet, the greatest of the Impressionists, at the doorway. It's a tribute to Monet, but it's also a way of living with cultural influences: Kratzer and his wife, Deb, don't just keep them within book covers or admire them in museums. Their Picasso spends each day close to their pinball machine. Agatha Christie's shrewd little Belgian detective and his carefully pruned mustache hover over the deck door.

From the main floor leading down to the basement, there is a color mural inspired by Picasso's The Dream.

But through most of the spacious basement there is black line-drawing — around the pinball machine and the pool table and over the bathtub and toilet.

Why the black marker theme? Says Kratzer: "You can do a lot with it."

Indeed, Sharpie art has its own little corner of the Internet: Artist Justine Ashbee, at www.justineashbee.com, features a gallery of intricate Sharpie art.

Kratzer likes the Impressionists, but he's also inspired by Picasso — in particular the artist's ability to convey a lot of information with just a few lines. A gathering at Picasso's Paris salon in 1919 dominates a far wall, featuring a pantheon of artistic greats including Jean Cocteau, Erik Satie, Clive Bell and Olga Picasso, striking a kind of Sharpie synthesis of marker art between film, music, dance, literature and the muse.

While Kratzer's basement mural art might have started with one mark, he had decided in his 30s that he wanted Impressionist art in his house, quite a lot of it, and that to afford such a stunning variety he'd best produce it himself.

He began to paint, and now there are paintings all over the house — created by Charlie and critiqued and guided by Deb. The two met at Muhlenberg College in Pennsylvania. Deb, now an at-home mom, formerly taught deaf students.

The couple has two sons, one at a Massachusetts engineering college, the other in the pre-engineering program at Lafayette High School.

Says Deb: "I have the coolest husband. He's so bright, and artistic on top of it."

rostarr.

rostarr is a korean born, brooklyn based artist. he considers his art with a term of his own, "graphysics."

if youre in the miami area, i encourage you to go check out the rostarr's wreckless abandon exhibition, its open until november 8th.

during my hectic weekend, i was able to fit in a visit to this exhibit, luckily it was opening night and i was able to see some friends too [hi david, =( sorry about your accident]. i had already seen some mind blowing art the whole evening in the design district (the 2nd saturday of every month = art walk!!), but i just felt a different appeal for rostarr's work.

at first i didnt know what to expect, as i hadnt done too much research on the artist, nor had i seen any of his art (on purpose). the element of surprise is the best... as soon as i walked in, i was blown away. the venue was set up perfectly.. the lighting.. the floor. wow!
doodles on canvas = my thing.
i wont post all of my pics, i dont want to spoil it all!

this piece was one GIANT wall, the first thing you see when you walk in.
my lens was not suitable for the shots i wanted, so heres a little sneak peak.

he has so many different mediums.. everything struck out to me. i feel like there are a lot of messages inside his art, specifically his pieces that follow this style.

i kept getting lost in his art.

im pretty sure ill be going back down sometime within the next week or so to check this out for a second time.

ps: big ups to the chick with the supremed out wheelchair, you absolutely made my night =P !! baller.

currently jamming to: speak to me (breath)- easy star all stars (zshare)

terence mckenna.

ive always enjoyed his thoughts and words. i frequently find myself reading more about his philosophies and watching many of his videos on youtube.

my good friend arielle and i were just talking on aim, catching up, yadda yadda. were both pretty tired, so we mutually decided to get snuggled into bed and read our new books.

im so used to reading fiction books or buddhist books, i really enjoy them, but i decided that i want to switch it up and read more books about people that interest me. after spending a lovely afternoon in borders, i walked out with this:

i was strugging between this einstein book and a terrence mckenna book that caught my eye.
its called "the archaic revival: speculations on psychedelic mushrooms, the amazon, virtual reality, ufos, evolution, shamanism, the rebirth of the goddess, and the end of history"

nuts, right? well, as soon as i finish this einstein book, thats next on the list (thanks to my brother as a birthday present, i already asked for it, lol)

after telling arielle about my next book, she instantly became interested and asked me to send her some videos on him. so, until i read the archaic revival, i wanted to share some of my favorite mckenna vids with you.

mckenna on culture, art and fighting the system

your future in your imagination

terence mckenna's message to artists

if youre interested in more of his topics, google him or youtube him! you'll find some really amazing stuff. unfortunately, terence passed away in 2000 from brain cancer.
he left a lot of his wise being on this earth for us.... lets utilize it.

why i love florida...

i always wish i lived on the west coast, so i could watch the sunset on the beach everyday =D.
but, we still get some beautiful sunsets over here, along with some magnificent skies.
dont get me wrong, i love the sunrise.. but theres a different vibe about the sunsetting
and the night coming in that always gives me a euphoric feeling.
each day i walk outside my apartment and check it out. im a huge sky watcher.

anyway, i wanted to share some recent sky pictures from a few different days. there has been a lack of my personal photography on my blog, but theres a reason! ive been taking pics with my OG Nikon 2020, its a 35mm camera! ive been printing my black/white pictures in a darkroom and ive been having a blast. once i have a lot more material, ill post it all up. as of now im working on some cool projects.

but for now, here is the sky over the course of a week. the colors are mind blowing.
ps: ignore the poles, the trees, and all the crap in the pictures, haha (publix included).
i have yet to head out west or go to a dope sunset picture location.....

to see these pics in their full size, click here for my flickr.

i like the relaxing sunday night feel..... download this song, and chill.
