I intended on getting up at 10am to head off the library in order to study for my 2 finals tomorrow. At 945 my best friend called me telling me there was a shooting at FAU. I thought that it had to be a lie.. until i went to my schools website only to see this:

srsly?

Im just finishing up my sophmore year at university. I've finally figured out what im going to major in, and im feeling good about where my grades are headed. I joined the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, which you can be in if you have a certain GPA in your Freshman and Sophomore years.
It's pretty cool, they host tons of awesome events that can really help out with future careers, etc.

Anyway, i'm constantly getting e-mails about events that are going on.. but recently i received this:

This is just crazy. I feel legit, haha.

When i take a look at the candidates, i know that it would be a once in a lifetime experience to go. But, do i even want to? Hm, it would be dope to tell my kids that i was at the inauguration of the first female or black president in U.S history (depending on who wins)? I dont know.. i'm honestly not sure how to feel about the invite. I dont feel like getting all political in my blog either, but my feelings towards the remaining candidates are not entirely positive, to say the least. Further in the letter it states that ill be able to meet the President, Lance Armstrong, White House officials, presidential candidates, etc. Hmmm....

I have until May 6th to decide. Opinions?

Here are a few songs from my April playlist, just a bunch of stuff ive been jamming to recently, some oldies.. some newbies, enjoy the downloads!

1.Do You Remember- Louis La Roche (zshare) So, a few month ago, i posted what was thought to be a Thomas Bangalter track on my blog, only to find that it was only an internet rumor. The track was really produced by Louis La Roche, a French House producer from Norwich, UK. After i found out a little bit more about him, i added him on myspace, where i found this track. Too bad i couldn't find it anywhere on the net, until now. It's a nice chill track to open a night with.

2. Shake- The Bombers (zshare) I can't get enough of this sound. The intro is so dope, and the lyrics are super funky and sexy. This track is from 1979, pure funkkkkkk.

3. Bump (Switch Remix) - Spank Rock (zshare) As old as it is (06), ill always have room for this house style/electro remix from Switch. YO! I KEEP IT DIRTY FRESH!! The lyrics of this track always get me.

4. Lisa Marie- Lil' Wayne (zshare) ... cause i just have to show love.

5. Vuvuvu- MSTRKRFT (zshare) Back in December, I was able to get a set rip of this song. I was stoked when a 320 finally hit the web. I was even more stoked when i heard this during their amazing Ultra set, it honestly blew my face off. My friends and i were in the rage. Anyway, i'm sure most bloggers have this track.. but i had to share my love for it! Its hard.

6. Hold Back (LA Riots Remix) - Edison Gem (zshare) Something completely different from the LA Riot boys. This track has a very housey feel, but for some reason i just cant stop singing along with the chorus.

7. Walking On The Sun- Smashmouth (zshare) Don't hate me.

8. Crimewave (Lazrtag Remix)- Crystal Castles (zshare) I love the original track from Crystal Castles a lot, when i heard this remix i was super excited cause it's def more upbeat and dance worthy.

I'm all about my fave girls today. M.I.A is my favorite artist right now, hands down.

I can honestly listen to ALL of her tracks on repeat every day, all day. Her albums Arula and Kala are pure fuego, click on the albums to buy them on iTunes! She's currently on tour around the U.S, so look out for her in your town, click here for tour dates. M.I.A's lyrics often cover topics like global politics, poverty & violence. She grew up in Sri Lanka, in the midst of a civil war. Her awareness in her music is definitely worth the listen. On top of that, this chick has a mind of ... well, listen to some of her lyrics, find out for yourself.

Anyway, i thought i would post a few of my favorite remixed M.I.A tracks! Although these tracks are fairly old, its necessary to represent M.I.A, its the banana way.

This first track was cleverly produced by no one other then my buddy Hatchmatik, straight from the land of rainbows and gold! (Hi Matt!)

This is one of those songs that just constantly gets remixed. Like Rihanna's "umbrella" or Justice's "Phantom"... some songs just don't need remixing anymore! This song is dope untouched. HOWEVER, my most recent find changed my mind about the remixes.

Ok, i need to vent.

I'm sick and tired of people calling the T-mobile Sidekick a phone for kids. Honestly, people are crazy. If you know me well enough, then you have both of my phone numbers because silly me uses two cell phones. I HAVE MY REASONS, i don't feel like explaining right now.

To be real, i don't think i'd use the Sidekick as my actual phone, service isn't the best and the features are as up to par as my iPhone. HOWEVER, for $30 a month i get unlimited text messaging, instant e-mail, and full AIM. Sure, i know the blackberry offers that, and if the iPhone didnt exist, i'd probably have one.... But srsly, stop the hate on the SK! The full keyboard is a design that no other phone can touch, and i live for it, sry bout it!!

I've had a sidekick since the beginning, back when there was no color screen, haha. Now im hooked and i feel its necessary for my busy lifestyle. I only copped the limited sidekicks, the Juicy one was hard to pass on. I recently had the sexy DWADE edition, as much as i wanted the LX, i passed because i wanted to wait for a limited LX. Yea sure, call me a hypebeast cause i like my things limited, haha.. but the collabs that Danger always done has always reminded of Nike artist series collabos, which are always dope!







Blah blah blah, my 1st DWADE was stolen and after a year and 1/2, my 2nd DWADE finally had its day and died last week. I copped the LX.. I'm sorry, but a brown slim sidekick is so so sick.

YAY! Honestly, you've no idea how bad i needed new ones. I've been rocking the same Ortofon DJ needles for some time now and i wanted something new instead of just buying new stylus. I've yet to break the Scratchs in, but i will soon. Shure's are classic, been rocking them since i started messing with a turntable 5 years ago, industry standard.. can't go wrong!

2. I'm obsessed.

This ring makes me happy. I don't know why. It's just so cool looking, I can't get over it!!!

I've been going to the library the last few weeks on my day off (Wednesday). Even if its nice out, i feel good going to the library. I wake up semi early and just hang out there for hours doing homework and studying. I haven't studied like this in a while. I got into the habit of studying in my room.. in my bed... its the worst because i always end up falling asleep, pretending its okay if i catch an hour or two of zz's in between my precious study time.

Well.. it's not! And im finally out of the habit of doing that....
My best bud Oleg convinced me to get my butt to the library, its definitely been worth it, thanks Oledge!

I've posted about duke before. I love this guy. It seems as though he just continues to amaze everyone with his art. His most recent project was done in London, where he managed to do a 3 story piece stating "ONE NATION UNDER CCTV."
He cleverly executed this piece directly under a CCTV camera.

I need to introduce my readers to my all time favorite group, Looptroop Rockers.
Straight from Sweden, these dudes started out over a decade ago. I bought their LP "A Modern Day City Symphony," back in 2000 from Amazon. I've been hooked since.

Their mix of hip-hop and reggae style/hip hop beats has always caught my attention.

I got into them back when i was writing Zesct, bombing up my city and painting canvas, those were the days.
Looptroop has a song called Long Arm of the Law (zshare), which is all about the bullshit that comes along with being a writer. Focus (zshare) was for sure my favorite track on that album. Later songs like Bandit Queen (zshare) and Looking for Love (Ft. Timbuk) (zshare) are some of my faves too.

Anyway, they are rocking super hard now!
They have a new kind of sound, which definitely seems to be hitting it off here in the states.
